Jung Won Sonn博士简介
Originally from South Korea, he finished his BSc and MSc at Seoul National University and Ph.D at UCLA. Then he taught briefly at LSE Geography before he joined School of Planning, University College London. Dr. Sonn's research is focused on two themes within the regional economic development realm: 1) the urban and regional dimension of technological knowledge production and 2) political analysis of regional economic planning. The geographical focuses of his research are the U.S., South Korea and China. His papers were published in some of the top journals such as EPA, Urban Studies and Antipode. He was a recipient of research fellowships and grants from North American Regional Science Assocation, Leverhume Trust, Asian Institute for Regional Innovation, and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK. He is on his 2-year research leave from UCL with research grant from European Union. His research in China is about information flow between foreign-invested firms and local firms in Chinese cities and regions.
